Nursery (3’s) Co-Head Teacher 

 

Trevor Day School seeks candidates for a full-time Nursery (3’s) Co-Head Teacher. This faculty member is responsible for the homeroom life of approximately ten to twelve students, alongside another Co-Head teacher and an Associate Teacher. They are also responsible for planning, implementing, and reviewing the Nursery curriculum, in partnership with the Nursery team and the administration. 

The successful candidate should be dynamic, energetic, nurturing, and creative. This individual will join a team of colleagues, working in close collaboration with their Co-Head and their Associate Teacher, Specialist Teachers, and the entire Lower School (Nursery–Grade 5) division. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children aged 2.8–4 years old, built on social, emotional, and academic goals.

  • Planning lessons and tailoring instruction to meet students’ individual needs, based on classroom scope and sequence.

  • Mentoring an Associate Teacher through weekly feedback meetings and collaborative curriculum planning and delivery.

  • Collaborating closely with teachers and specialists regarding curriculum and student progress.

  • Coordinating with the faculty, families, and outside support specialists to best support student growth.

  • Communicating student progress and goals through family conferences, home reports, and parent meetings and emails.


Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, as well as a minimum of three years experience as a Head or Associate Teacher.  

  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate Nursery/Pre-K curriculum.

  • Ability to track students’ progress and needs.

  • Experience using technology to enhance classroom learning.

  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues on lesson planning and innovative curriculum development.

  • Proven ability to form strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction to accommodate a range of learning styles. 

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor. 



The full-time salary range for this position is $51,000-$164,000 as per the school's salary scale. When extending an offer for employment, Trevor Day School bases the salary upon several factors that include (but are not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education, training, key skills, and peer salary equity.
