,Reporting to the Director of Development, the Trevor Fund Director is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of the school’s annual giving campaign. The Director also works in coordination with the Director of Alumni Relations on outreach to the alumni population as well as the Director of Development on creating a pipeline of potential donors for major gifts and/or campaign gifts.
Primary Responsibilities

Serve as primary liaison between Trevor Fund volunteers and Development Office. Recruit, train, and supervise 65+ parent volunteers, supporting their work in peer-to-peer outreach, phonathons, individual solicitation calls, etc., and assist with donor recognition, cultivation, and stewardship events related to annual giving. Oversee and execute annual giving calendar of events and touchpoints, and update as necessary.

Generate content for and oversee production of Trevor Fund solicitations, including appeal mailings, electronic solicitations, solicitation letters, and pledge reminders. Work with the Director of Alumni Relations to coordinate the annual Senior Gift campaign and student appeal, and ensure coordination in solicitations to the alumni community managed by the Director of Alumni Relations.

Produce and sign tax acknowledgement letters for annual fund gifts. Accurately convey information on gifts received and ensure proper recognition from Head of School, Board President, and other appropriate volunteers or staff.

Connect regularly and report back to Trevor Fund, Senior Gift, and Faculty Campaign Co-Chairs to determine strategies and operationalize tactics to achieve optimal outcomes.

Ensure Trevor Fund gifts are appropriately recorded in donor database (Raiser’s Edge NXT). Conduct proper follow-up with the Business Office to process payments. Work with Business Office on gift reconciliation to ensure consistency in financial accounting and reporting.

Build database queries, reports, and exports, producing and editing lists for various meetings and events. Update constituent listing preferences as needed, as well as record important biographical or giving-related notes and touchpoints in database. Collaborate with IT Department on technology and data entry projects.

Track and report on all aspects of the Trevor Fund, including progress toward financial and participation goals and volunteer activity. Update all participation tracking spreadsheets as gifts are received.

Manage matching gift process, ensuring that matching gift claims are filed and receipt of gifts monitored, and liaise with Trevor’s broker on gifts of securities.

Work with Director of Development on setting Trevor Fund fundraising goals, tracking progress, and implementing overall strategy as it relates to other current fundraising initiatives, such as capital campaign fundraising. Identify potential campaign prospects from the annual fund pipeline.

Work with colleagues to generate comprehensive and accurate data for annual donor report and other recognition/stewardship vehicles. Work closely with colleagues to build an editorial team to review accuracy of data and donor lists.

Work with Marketing and Communications Departments to produce printed, digital materials and video assets throughout the year related to the Trevor Fund.

Lead the team in introducing best practices in annual giving, including new strategies for outreach, effective communications, and participation incentives.

Other job-related duties as necessary and appropriate.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree and possess five or more years of related experience, preferably within an academic environment. Significant computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser’s Edge (or similar CRM), Mailchimp, and Canva, are expected. Strong organizational skills, communication, skills, diplomacy, attention to detail, and keen ability to employ discretion are highly desired. We are a fast-paced office that interfaces and serves the entire school community; therefore, flexibility and a willingness to collaborate with people of all work styles is essential. Occasional evening hours are required.
The full-time salary range for this position is $80,000-100,000. When extending an offer for employment, Trevor Day School bases the salary upon several factors that include (but are not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education, training, key skills, and peer salary equity.
