,Trevor Day School is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Math Specialist to cover a leave from September through December 2025. This role supports differentiated math instruction, support, and enrichment in our Lower School, primarily focusing on Grades 3 through 5. The Math Specialist works closely with students and faculty, playing an integral role in student support and curricular differentiation.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide math instruction to small, differentiated student groups, focused around student support and enrichment, in collaboration with classroom teachers.

Plan and deliver lessons tailored to students’ individual needs, while aligning with classroom scope and sequence.

Utilize recommended supports, modifications and accommodations as they pertain to students with IEPs, evaluations or outside support services.

Maintain detailed records of student progress and write brief reports for inclusion in academic reports.

Participate in regular meetings with the Student Support Team and Division Director, as well as in parent meetings.
Qualifications:

Master’s degree (completed or in progress) in mathematics, special education, or general education.

A minimum of three years of experience teaching mathematics at the upper elementary level.

Familiarity with Singapore Math and other elementary math programs (e.g., Dimensions Math, Math in Focus, TERC, Math in Context).

Passion for mathematics and the teaching profession.

Proven ability to differentiate instruction and teach to a variety of learning styles.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Enthusiasm for professional growth and participation in school wide initiatives.

Experience with or interest in integrating technology into classroom learning.

Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, positivity, collaboration skills, and a sense of humor.

The full-time salary range for this position is $65,000–$115,000. Leave replacement positions are compensated at a proportion of this range. When extending an offer for employment, Trevor Day School bases the salary upon several factors that include (but are not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education, training, key skills, and peer salary equity.
